Hello Forum,
I got an oficial upgrade from AVL MX repo and decided to install as it was the officially tested for MX, however after upgrade xfce4 does not start. I have no panel, no whisker, nothing. I have a warning for a bunch of unmet dependencies (which is annoying as I upgraded through official upgrade tool and repos). SO now I want to downgrade to 4.18. I have no time to deal with fixing this, the problem is that 4.18 is no longer available in the repos, so how would I downgrade?
please help
thanks

Either you have a source.list issue or MX has a repo issue. First try to get everything synced.
apt update
I don't know what MX uses, either upgrade or dist-upgrade or maybe full-upgrade.
apt upgrade
If you see any errors you can try
apt -f install
I would check with the folks over at MX to clarify the correct procedure. I'm not even sure if those folks have released 4.20 yet?

Well, exactly. For the record, we released MX-23.5 Sunday night and it brought a well-tested 4.20 with it (and we use dist-upgrade). AVLinux is not an official MX version but uses the same repos. No one else has reported these problems and I suppose that OP may had a faulty download or something similar.
jrsv: please use the MX Forum > MX respins to resolve this problem.

cheers, thanks.
but from XFCE4 there is no repo that holds the old 4.18 for downgrade? I will ask in MX forums,
thanks again
