Xfce 4.18: Screen locking sort of pauses system

When screen is locked, system goes to some sort of pause-state, audio gets killed, downloading from web browser pauses, I can't even imagine what else. This is similar to these threads:

https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=16573

https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=17265

So after investigating, I'm guessing command "xflock4" is triggered from Power Manager Settings? And I guess by reading that script, it is triggering "light-locker-command -l", but it behaves exactly same as "xdg-screensaver lock", are these actually the same?

Suspend, hibernate etc. are off to my knowledge and I've masked these services.

XScreenSaver and xfce4-screensaver work fine. I would prefer xfce4-screensaver, but for some reason it is not available in Debian Stable repo. It's in Testing.

But I would be just as fine with this current locking application, but not when it behaves this way.

From the description it sound like it's going to sleep and you have it set to lock the screen when it does that. I'm not sure why it would sleep if something is playing though. I don't let my laptop sleep/hibernate and use dm-tool to lock the screen if I want. If I lock the screen with audio playing it continues to play and the screen is off.

Re: Xfce 4.18: Screen locking sort of pauses system

Tried "dm-tool lock" and "dm-tool switch-to-greeter", do the same thing. Snaps bluetooth off, actually not disables audio but somehow changes it's state, like pulseaudio changing output profile?

Actually now it seems that anything using light-locker, xdg, xflock4 cause havoc here when using lock screen functionality. Following apps work here as expected: Xscreensaver, i3lock, xsecurelock, tested all in Debian Stable repo.

No biggie, I can live with this, I just use some of those. I would be willing to debug this though if someone can guide me how.
