4.20 broke icons placement on multi-monitor setup

I am using a 3 x monitor setup where i have set the middle monitor as primary and used the leftmost monitor as receptacle for the icons (new files added to desktop would automatically appear there). This was working like a charm out of the box until the update to 4.20

After the update, new files icons are automatically placed on the primary monitor (the middle one in my case). Additionally I cannot select multiple icons with the mouse and drag them to the secondary monitor, as even if multiple icons are selected only one of them gets moved over to the left monitor.

Does anyone else experience this and maybe found a solution?

Thanks for pointing this out to me. I see the issue has been reported one month ago and there is no solution as of now.
