Did an update/upgrade cycle a couple of days ago; when I open the whisker menu, the columns are now flipped. I thought I could live with this, but find I'm becoming more and more irritated with this issue. It makes no sense to open a catagory to the left of the category column. There was a supposed fix many years ago, but it is apparently outdated since the selection doesn't appear anymore under any of the tabs in whisker panel properties. Using xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin 2.7.2-1-bpo22.04.

Can you make screenshot?
Anyway... xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin 2.7.2-1-bpo22.04, you use Mint 21?
Tested in virtual 21.3 with same whisker version and category can be left or right based on option: "Appearance/Position categories next to panel button"
BTW: in WhiskerMenu 2.8.3 and 2.9.0 is same as option "Appearance/Position categories on left" (both tested on Xubuntu)

Thanks. That did the trick. Yes, Mint 21. For anyone coming across this thread, you get to the Properties menu by clicking on the Whisker menu icon. Wish they had labeled it "Position categories col. on left/right - that would have been clearer. I assume by your comment this change has already been made - it just hasn't propagated to Linux Mint 21. Not sure why they flipped the default in the first place.
