Hi
I just installed XFCE on Fedora 4.1 , but .... the same GNOME desktop as before installation is running
I tried to start xfce manually by issuing the command
startxfce4but what I get is the following message:
X server already running on display:0
(xfce4-session:5235): xfce4-session-...**23:56:07 .174: another session manager is already running
So I guess that the "other" session manager which is already running is GNOME (the default one)?
How do I stop GNOME and let XFCE run instead?
How can I have XFCE run from system start-up instead of having to start it manually each time?
How do I change the login window?
Regards

Are you using a login manager? Which one? GDM3, LightDM? Have you set up autologin?
But it's all right, when you're all in pain and you feel the rain come down
It's alright, when you find your way, then you see it disappear
It's alright....

You need "Log Out" from Gnome, then login again but before login, change session from Gnome to Xfce...
This can be done using "gear" icon in bottom-right which is show after select/type username, when is showed password input field
