Hello from Italy

Hi there!

Thank you for letting me join this lovely community about Xfce DM.
I'm a simple PC hardware impassioned, graphic developer and gamer. I appreciate this desktop since 15 years ago. Since when my first steps in the GNU/Linux ecosystem taken place.
After a long journey amongst Debian and derivatives, I came back to my "old flame": openSUSE.
And I've definitely sat to stay and...get aging!  big_smile

But I never imagined to have done more Desktop Environment hopping than distros itself in the last two years, probably just out of curiosity, and to learn something new even though I think nothing is closer to the Xfce reliability. Especially under the shell functions (yes, I know, I sound like a former KDE user, very disappointed about the 6.x version lol).
I've recently helped Ilya Zoblintsev (a very talented programmer, by the way) with his LACT project in regards of Intel Graphics support, donating him an Intel ARC card- check out here for the future releases: https://github.com/ilya-zlobintsev/LACT/releases/ and that revealed to me the best move in this field that I've could done because we have now (under the 6.13 kernel, of course) GPU temp, voltages, VRAM and so on from the i915 driver (which is not programmed for overclock, however, at the moment).

I'm also trying to hold something good about Linux in a Youtube channel, but in Italian only, due to the fact that our open source situation is dramatically behind and honestly, even though the gaming sphere is evolving well, I think that the general matter can't be managed as a simple trend regulated by non convenient logic (Google, Meta, Adobe and all the predatory heads: I hate you). The open source ecosystem deserves better, especially cases like mine where even a simple internet connection has been left behind from the progress. No fiber where I live, prices too high, and I'm with a mobile 4G/5G SIM data plan on a ZTE router which is reliable 9 months per year only. Then, during the summer time is tragic in south Italy, but at least, I can get out of my hole here for a nice swim, or a dive.

Keep in touch and bless you all,
openChameleon aka Citizen839X
