Thunar Left-Side Panel

Hello everyone,

I want to disable some settings on the left sidebar in thunar. Such as Network, Trash, Desktop and so on.I know i can right-click on Places and just disable them. But can someone tell me in which file these configurations are saved? Because i need the file so i can transfer these settings to multiple devices easily. Couldn't find anything about it on google.
Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings
Marco

Re: Thunar Left-Side Panel

Hello and welcome.

They are saved in the xfconf database.

xfconf-query -c thunar -lv | grep hidden

...in the hidden-bookmarks and hidden-devices keys.

Ultimately, they are saved into the $HOME/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/thunar.xml file but you need to be careful directly manipulating this file while logged into Xfce and/or xfconfd is running.

To backup, & restore you can copy/paste this file while not logged into Xfce and/or xfconfd is running, or you can use xfconf-query commands to directly affect a running and live xfconf database.
