vlc is not inhibiting hibernation

Using latest Arch, XFCE and VLC.

vlc is not inhibiting hibernation. I know this is an old issue but it has surfaced again. Any ideas?

PS
I guess I could just use "systemd-inhibit vlc" but just wondering if there's a quick fix like modifying a config file.

Re: vlc is not inhibiting hibernation

I believe if you use Presentations mode via the Power Manager system tray plug-in  it will prevent screen blanking and sleep.

It's alright, when you find your way, then you see it disappear

Re: vlc is not inhibiting hibernation

In vlc preferences: preferences->video->output put “X11 video output” or something similar instead of “auto”.

You can also try:

In your /home/"you"/.config/vlc/vlcrc
line:

# Disable screensaver (boolean)
#disable-screensaver=1

change to:

# Disable screensaver (boolean)
disable-screensaver=1

The main defect of the linuxers is lack of memory - they don't remember how their knowledge was when they started with the linux
