Hi,
sometimes thunar is freezing and often the only way to "fix" it is to reboot my computer.
All my network devices are mounted using autofs (i had the same problems when using systemd to mount). Lets say a network device is running and i can copy files using thunar, the currently selected folder is
/autofs/raspberry
When the network share isn't available for what ever reason thunar is freezing. I can't change the folder to /home. I can close thunar using the process manager but mostly thunar doesn't start. When i start thunar in a terminal there is no error. Often reboot/shutdown takes a while.
What is the problem? Is it because thunar is trying to connect to the unavailable network share?
Thanks
Friedrich

Thunar is capable of mounting removable and network shares using gvfs/gio. My guess is that gvfs and autofs are conflicting. You have two programs trying to mount shares. I would try disabling either autofs or gvfs and see if it helps.

But i don't mount shares using gvfs. My should thunar mount something using gvfs.
How can i disable it? Do i need to uninstall it?

Thunar>>Edit>>Preferences>>Advance Tab>>Enable Volume management.
Be sure it's unchecked or remove gvfs.
