I'm running Linux Mint 21.3 (Virginia) XFCE 4.18 on a custom built desktop PC, with dual monitors.
I usually have both monitors in their horizontal 16x9 position with 1920x1080 resolution. But if I ever need to read a coding related pdf, epub, or other document, I open the document in the second monitor and rotate the monitor to vertical 4:3 position with 1024x768 resolution. I do this so I can type on the main monitor while reading off of the second monitor.
Since I do this frequently, I set up Profiles in the Display Setting, but I have a feeling I'm using it wrong. What I did was set up two profiles, named Main and Read:
Whisker Menu > Settings > Display > Advanced tab
I set up both profiles in the "Profiles matching the currently connected displays" box. I have it on Main usually. And then whenever I want to read something, I rotate the second monitor and switch to the Read profile. When I'm done, I switch back to Main.
This works fine. However, every single time I switch from one profile to another, the GUI prompts me to "update" said profile. For example, I switch from Main to Read, and it will ask me:
"Do you want to update the Main profile?"
Well of course I don't, because that would overwrite it and it would function the exact same as Read. So then I would have two Read profiles. But this is what makes me feel I am maybe using Display profiles in a way that wasn't intended. Because why would it prompt me every time to update the profile I switch from?

Probably a bug fixed in 4.20.
