Software GUI visual issue

Hello,

using virtual box on debian xfce

For some reason these setting fields are partially (if not completely) obscured. See foto

Re: Software GUI visual issue

Hello and welcome.

Does it get better if you:

  1. Change to a different Appearance theme, or

  2. Disable the compositor (Settings Manager > Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor

Re: Software GUI visual issue

In that case, it's probably a Virtualbox issue. VB is currently at version 7.1.8 - there have been alot of bug fixes released. Are you able to test this version?

Re: Software GUI visual issue

I haven't used VBox for a while, but I do remember that there are different video graphics settings as well as a checkbox for 3D support. Try the different combinations to see if you can get one to work.

Its interesting that Ubuntu Gnome works. Is it running a wayland session? Are you running Xfce in a wayland session?

Re: Software GUI visual issue

You could try using qt6ct to set up the qt6 theme properly. You may also need some themes to use.
