Hi! I'm new

Hello everybody! I'm (trying to be) a programmer. I'm from Chile living in Spain. Recently I tried again XFCE and I liked it a lot, I find it that it has, by default, many smart and not overly-smart things that I like.

I'm joining this forum because, well, most Linux stuff is moving to Wayland, and XFCE has always been X (I don't know if I'm correct, but I think the X in XFCE is because of that xD), so I'm interested in helping to make the Wayland version (WFCE?). I don't know how much can I help, since I know nothing of C (although I'm interested in learning C and Rust), I know mostly Python and Bash.

I would greatly appreciate if somebody can point me in the right direction. Currently I'm using XFCE over Wayfire, I like it a lot, although the cohesion has been difficult to get with non-gtk applications, and it's not near perfect.

I hope to be helpful and get to know everybody!  big_smile
Thanks a lot!

Re: Hi! I'm new

Hello and welcome.

I don't think there will be a "Wfce", but as you have noted, current Xfce supports running on wayland. If your interested in contributing to Xfce, start here.
