I'm experimenting using XFCE 4.20 Wayland labwc in an Ubuntu derivative (Linux Lite 7.x) and can run gnome-remote-desktop server and connect from Windows and/or Linux succesfully. The issue is that I get the Ubuntu gnome desktop when connected and not the XFCE Linux Lite even though the terminal reports Linux Lite is running. On the other hand wayvnc works perfectly and shows the Linux Lite 7 desktop. I'm using GDM and not lightdm. Is that the cause, or is it because of two different wayland compositors and the gnome dependencies? It seems to me that if I can run the Linux Lite 7.x wayland labwc desktop on it's Ubuntu base I should also be able to run and display it correctly over rdp regardless of those things. Perhaps I have missed configuring the rdp server for the XFCE 4.20 display somehow? The terminal reports XFCE 4.20 but the desktop displays as Ubuntu gnome over rdp.

The XFCE developers are working on getting XFCE to work with Wayland. It's questionable if the Wayland developers are working with the XFCE developers? Only the XFCE developers can answer that question since the Wayland developers seem to have used Krazy Glued their mouths shut. Does anyone know the real answer to this?

I am horrible at using the terminal as I could never learn the command line.
