"Action Buttons" slow to react + scanning fails

Hi,

I'm using Sparky Linux rolling (=Debian Testing).

Up until recently scanning (HP Deskjet 46q5) worked fine. Today running "simple-scan" I just got a spinning icon but no scan (it's detected but the scanner isn't moving). Printing works fine.

I ran "hp-check" and got a ton of dependencies which it reported as missing. After installing most of them now I got another problem: when I press the Action Buttons in the panel, such as "Restart" or "Shutdown" it takes almost a minute for the action to occur. It was instantaneous before.

Any suggestions on how to get the scanner and the Action Buttons to work properly?.

Thanks

Sounds like something is timing out. ~/.xsessions.old or journalctl might show what the cause of the timeout is.

What did you end up installing?
