xfce4 wayland not reading labwc files [Solved]

Clean install of Arch with xfce4 and labwc.

When starting xfce4 wayland from lightdm or from console, it does not read the rc.xml file from ~/.config/labwc. Starting labwc from lightdm or console does so I get the labwc theme etc ..

Is there a workaround for this issue?

Xfce uses its own config files in ~/.config/xfce4/labwc.

Is that new? I don't recall that being the configuration last time I used xfce4 wwayland?

Since 4.20.1 or 4.20.2, I don't remember exactly.
