GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Remote Peer Disconnect

hello!!
i was trying to switch my input method to ibus, but when i try to do so it gives me this error:
Failed to switch Input Method
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Remote Peer Disconnected

i can run ibus just fine from the terminal, but if i try to switch from the input method selector i get that error
