Icon snapping to a grid.

I'd like to position the desktop icons freely. Only can't find a way to do so. There is always this snapping. And also the animation when the icon I moved is being put back is heavily annoying. I searched Google, asked DeepSeek but yet couldn't find an appropriate answer to this problem.

xfwm4 v4.18.0

xfdesktop -V
This is xfdesktop version 4.18.1, running on Xfce 4.18.
Built with GTK+ 3.24.36, linked with GTK+ 3.24.38.
Build options:
    Desktop Menu:        enabled
    Desktop Icons:       enabled
    Desktop File Icons:  enabled

Tried to adding in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css:

XfdesktopIconView.view {
    -XfdesktopIconView-cell-spacing:1;
    -XfdesktopIconView-cell-padding:1;
    -XfdesktopIconView-cell-text-width-proportion:1.5;
}

to minimize the grid, but didn't really help.
