Re: Ristretto ( Can support avif viewer ? )

You can extend Ristretto's capabilities by adding GDK pixbuff plugins. In the case with avif install  libavif-gdk-pixbuf.

apt show libavif-gdk-pixbuf
Package: libavif-gdk-pixbuf
Version: 1.2.1-1.2
Priority: optional
Section: libs
Source: libavif
Maintainer: Debian Multimedia Maintainers <debian-multimedia@lists.debian.org>
Installed-Size: 72.7 kB
Depends: libavif16 (= 1.2.1-1.2), libc6 (>= 2.4), libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 (>= 2.31.1), libglib2.0-0t64 (>= 2.36.0)
Breaks: libavif7-gdk-pixbuf, libavif8-gdk-pixbuf
Replaces: libavif7-gdk-pixbuf, libavif8-gdk-pixbuf
Homepage: https://github.com/AOMediaCodec/libavif
Tag: role::shared-lib
Download-Size: 35.4 kB
APT-Sources: https://deb.debian.org/debian sid/main amd64 Packages

This library aims to be a friendly, portable C implementation of the AV1

.
This package provides the GDK pixbuf plugin for the library.

You can also install ristretto manually from the repo.
Or you can wait until trixie is stable, there is also the newer version. it will be soon...
