When I change the font DPI, which I do frequently, I notice that the main Applications menu is initially the wrong size.
I have to click it a 2nd time for the size to be correctly updated.
It's a bug that has existed for years.
You might ask why do I change the DPI frequently, it's simple: My laptop's screen is high DPI (it's a Macbook),
but my external monitor is regular low-DPI. So when I use the laptop not at home, it need
to set the DPI to 227 or so. But at home I need to set it to 160 or so.
With the increasing prevalence of high DPI and medium-DPI screens there are bound to be more users
who have screens of differing DPIs.

main Applications menu
Which one are you referring to? There is the Whiskermenu, ApplicationsMenu, and Appfinder.
Does the same issue exist if you use one of the others, or does it exist for just one of these?

Application menu in the top-left corner. That's the only menu that I have.

I found changing the DPI can cause improper size of the main window that has the settings for that application regardless of which version of XFCE is used. This happens with some applications but not others regardless if resized using the adjusting the DPI method or any other methods. When I see this size discrepancy the resize icons in the boarder don't respond to resize it. The window will be too wide and or too tall that prevents you from gaining access to selection buttons. The only way to move the window to gain access to control buttons or action buttons or what ever you call them is to press the ALT key on the keyboard while having the mouse cursor on the boarder section of said window which only then you can move window to gain access to those buttons. I see you posted "create bug report" in response to user (font) question. Since the XFCE developers have their hands more than full between coming out with a new version of XFCE and trying to get everything to work while at the same time dealing with getting Wayland to work with XFCE and not against it. Perhaps the XFCE can take this ongoing windows sizing issue into consideration and hopefully fix this issue on the next major release of XFCE. A possible solution would be to have G.U.I. style window size settings somewhere in the Settings window in XFCE. I suspect that this is going to be a very difficult task since this issue has been going on since the creation of XFCE. I rather wait than to trouble the XFCE developers to come out with the solution. I hope you understand what I am talking about and wish the XFCE Team great success.

I am horrible at using the terminal as I could never learn the command line.

ToZ can you please create that bug report for the good of the project and its users?

It is always best that the individual experiencing the issue be the one to create the bug report so they can follow through.

That's just too tedious.
