how to remove microphone slider from tray menu?

I think almost nobody uses that microphone slider, I want to remove it:

Hello and welcome.

It can't be removed as its hard-coded. The plugin just asks pulseaudio what output and input sinks exists and lists them there.

You could disable the microphone and that should prevent it from appearing.

I use it from time to time; however, I don't consider myself a nobody.
