Xfce 4.20 on Debian 13. Brightness buttons stopped working

Hi all,

I upgraded to Debian 13.0 and Xfce brightness keys stopped working.

I tried using a command line tool (light) to change the brightness, and it works only with root permissions.

Any idea?

Likely there is a polkit action to make a rule for. Look for it in the cli response from ‘pkaction’.
Also, you can try using the entire path as user, ie /usr/sbin/command instead of just command.
