There were loss of data while using a live system for file secure with Mxlinux.
It has been activated on yesterday after getting boot problems with an installed MX.
At least a couple video files did disapear from a connected usb drive and
additionally from the mounted hd partition. Mx was installed on this partition before.
While trying to copy files I discovered the folder Recent. The folder stores all of the files as
history view. What the hell is this security hole good for. It belongs maybe to Microsoft.
The Recent folder is labelt with a /. A comment in red color warns of the illegal use of that symbol /.
I was able to delete the files inside Recent but they disapeared also from the place
where they were copied to. So I did repeat the procedure several times before I gave up.
The video files which I saw at first too in Recent, disapeared completely from both place.
They disapeared from the original folder on the the hd and additionally from the USB stick. inclusive files which were not moved or copied.
There are no viruses. I use Linux and mainly live systems because of the uncertain situation.
Howto deactivate the function on Recent?
Howto to find and recover the lost files?
I dont't know howto send a screenshot here.

I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to say, but the "Recent" thing is a GTK feature, not XFCE related.
Try searching for "GTK recent files disable" or something similar.

Upload your screenshot to some file upload service like imgbox and paste the BBCode here.
