[SOLVED] Thunar 4.20.2 selection highlighting issue

I just upgraded to Debian trixie today and I see that thunar creates an opaque selection box around files and folders. It used to highlight only the name and the icon before.
If I run thunar as root, it shows the old behavior.
At first, I thought it was theme issue but it happens with Adwaita too.

How it used to look (and now when running as root):

How can I get the old look back?

This is the "file highlight" functionality. To disable it, the option is in the View menu - uncheck "Show file highlight".

Hello and welcome.

This is the "file highlight" functionality. To disable it, the option is in the View menu - uncheck "Show file highlight".

I added the [SOLVED] prefix to the name, hope that's the right way to "Mark it as [SOLVED]".
