[SOLVED] VPNIP genmon panel stopped working after recent update

Hi all.

First time here. I've tried to find out the answer to my woes, but I've not come across much information.

After a recent update, for some reason, the panel is just showing the word 'genmon' and not displaying my VPN IP address as expected.

The script is the default one at /usr/share/kali-themes/xfce4-panel-genmon-vpnip.sh

I'm not well versed in how the panel itself has to be set up, but from what I can make out, it requires the command

bash /usr/share/kali-themes/xfce4-panel-genmon-vpnip.sh

which it has.

Permissions on the script are -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root

Any advice is appreciated!

Apparently it's just a case of unchecking the 'Label' checkbox.

All working again now.
