Duplicated KDEConnect notifications

Running XFCE 4.16 under Slackware 15.0.

I have paired my Android phone successfully with my desktop, and I get notifications on my desktop when they are generated on my phone. The problem is that I getting more than one notification per event. For example, when I get an email my desktop registers two or three notifications for that email. They are triggered by the org.kde.kdeconnect.daemon process, as I can see when I do Settings -> Notifications -> Log in my XFCE desktop: this log clearly shows such multiple notifications generated by that process.

Anybody know why this is happening and how to fix it, so that a single notification per event is generated?
