Strange issue that I can't seem to figure out:
Whenever I resume from Suspend or even the Lock Screen, my mouse cursor will be flickering and it doesn't respond to me moving the mouse.
Each time this happens, the only thing that fixes it is if I switch to a non-graphical TTY and then switch back to the GUI:
Ctrl-Alt-F2
Ctrl-Alt-F7I don't know why this works, but I'm trying to figure out the root of the problem.
EDIT: I'm running Linux Mint 22.1 Xia, XFCE 4.18

Can you share some specs on your system? I believe Mint has inxi.
Also, can you post your current boot journal after a susupend/resume cycle?
sudo journalctl -b 0 --no-pagerMark solved threads as [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find solutions.

Does this log file include either a suspend event? If not, can you suspend the system, resume, then post back the log?
Can you lso post back your Xorg log file?
And, have you tried the different vblank modes? See: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=13233.

I might have jumped the gun thinking suspend was the cause. I couldn't seem to reproduce with suspend only with lock screen and now I think I know why. I have an old GMMK keyboard with LED lights and before I lock the screen or suspend, I press "Fn-Ins" key combination to activate a light pattern on the keyboard. It seems like this key combo is what makes the mouse flicker because it just started doing it BEFORE I locked the screen. Why, I'm not sure.

I did, it seems to do it no matter what vblank mode I try.

If set, remove the check mark.

You seem to have these warnings in your log file:

Thanks for the reply! I think that's the caret i.e. the terminal cursor, isn't it? I'm referring to my mouse cursor/pointer/arrow.
Added later 06 min 50 s:
Hmm admittedly I don't know a lot about graphics side of Linux (not sure what compositing is) but people in the thread are telling him to "just drop xf86-video-amdgpu," what does that mean?
EDIT:
Also, I am running the Kisak Mesa PPA, just in case that matters:

UPDATE:
I went down a few rabbit holes from that thread but couldn't find a solution, although I did discover something that would suggest we can discount the Suspend part of this:
My keyboard is an old GMMK (Model GMMK-BRN with Brown switches) and is LED backlit. I realized that before I lock my screen or suspend, I usually first activate a repeating light pattern on my keyboard using the key command
Fn + Ins(it also has BREATH printed on this key, which is the name of the light pattern).
I noticed that the mouse pointer started flickering after I performed the key command but BEFORE I set it to the lock screen. So I thought that the "Fn + Insert" key command must be mapped to something else within Mint.
Went down that rabbit hole, and I'm using xinput a lot and have been able to track down each "Event number" but have not found any matching key command. Also, why are there so many different sections of settings for setting shortcuts? And they all have different names: shortcuts, hotkeys, etc. lol
Anyway, that's where I'm at now. I will report back with any new updates.

You are not using Mint’s official Mesa. You’re on:
Mesa 25.2.7 - kisak-mesa PPAThat PPA has frequent regressions, it's great for gaming
but bad for suspend / power management stability.
You can switch to software cursor and see it that helps.
create /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-amdgpu.conf containing
Section "Device"
Identifier "AMD Graphics"
Driver "amdgpu"
Option "SWcursor" "true"
EndSectionSave and reboot.
