XFCE is the best, hoping wayland support gets better.

Gnome's funding is wack, like where the money is going.. And Gnome took a step back with that Unity thing where it worked more like a chromebook than a Desktop.
KDE has rounded corners on everything and all their apps start with the letter K damn near.  The settings are so verbose but yet their panel/toolbar is Worse.

I hope Wayland support keeps improving for XFCE.  It sucks their is just..  Xlibre doesnt seem like its doing much.

ugh..  its like Linux is being pushed into being like Windows or Mac OS with systemd running on so many distros, wayland being all there is and Gnome or KDE being the only choices with Wayland Native support.

sway and hyprland arent really what i want.   I like moving windows with the mouse.  hahaha  I got a television for my second monitor.. Hyprland isnt something i care to configure.

What are yall's thoughts on this?

e, i got wayland support working for xfce today on cachyos.  im happy about that.. but wayland is probably just some corporate controlled project.

Wayland support in XFCE is still experimental and has some short comings. Wayland itself has plenty of shortcomings. Both have a ways to go. X has always been a patchwork of software and I think Xlibre is just cleaning it up as far as I know. I don't think either are going away anytime soon and I think Wayland still has a lot of ironing out to do.

What are you using with Xfce, Labwc or Wayfire?

Re: XFCE is the best, hoping wayland support gets better.

Sorry if this is offtopic.  The more I explore Linux the more I love Xfce, it's just perfect for my needs, also nice to see I am not alone smile

Are there any threads/guides where I can read up on Xfce 4.20 issues and configuration with Wayland?

FWIW, I actually managed to configure my X11 Xfce so that everything works, the only reason I am curious about Wayland is security against potential screen captures. Maybe there will be some X11/Xorg solutions for that...

Thanks.
