External monitor is dark when switch to xfce

Hi all,
I am new here. I love xfce for its minimalist design but I am facing problem when I connect to external monitor. It is dark as if the power is off but the cursor is seen. When I switch to plama desktop, it works well.

Does anyone of you face similar problem and found a solution?
