[Solved] Stop moving my windows to the second screen

I have two monitors connected to my PC. When I go away for 5 minutes, the main monitor turns off and XFCE moves all my windows to the second screen.
When I come back, I need to manually move them back to the main screen.

The second screen is connected via VGA, but the main screen via DisplayPort, which seems to be important. I am aware that the best solution would be to connect the main screen just via HDMI, but I don't have a HDMI Connector on my GPU.  Can this behavior be disabled somehow? This seems to be some kind of X related event, that signals "this screen is now gone", so there must be some software logic handling this.

I am running XFCE 4.20 on Debian trixie.

Re: [Solved] Stop moving my windows to the second screen

I fixed it myself by patching xfsettingsd, as described here: https://askubuntu.com/a/1054199/386450

Hooray for free software!
