Panel Icons

Hi, this is my first post. I installed Manjaro XFCE today and have a few questions.
I've put the apps I use most often in the panel, and when I launch one of them, it takes up too much space in the panel, so if I open multiple apps, the panel gets crowded. Is there another way to highlight the launched app?

Re: Panel Icons

You can configure window buttons to be without labels, you can group them by application, or maybe you could even use a dock instead of window buttons, if that suits you better.

Open "Panel Preferences > Items" and play around until you like it.

Re: Panel Icons

You can also create two panels on different edges of the screen, one for launchers and another for window buttons. Or simply make the panel lower so you will have more space for the window buttons.

Another option is to make three panels, one with the menu, another with two rows of window buttons, and the last one with the launchers.

Re: Panel Icons

You might want to try grouping window buttons and disabling labels in the Window Buttons plugin. That way, running apps are highlighted by their icon without taking up extra space.
