[Solved]Intermittent Iwgtk tray icon

I use iwd/iwgtk for my wireless connections. It works perfectly other than the fact that the indicator(tray icon) only shows up intemittently. Sometimes when I log in it's there and other times it's not. Occasionally when I log into a wayland/labwc session the icon will be in the tray and if I log out and into an X session the icon will still be there. Maybe next time there's no tray icon???

I have come across some old bugs with similar issues but none presenting the same way. Most seemed to be addressed.

Is anybody else using iwgtk and are you having any issues?

Also, I can see the indicator is running with

ps aux | grep iwgtk
dan 496618 0.4 1.2 757116 97424 ? Sl 10:08 0:00 iwgtk -i

Added later 5 h 52 min 23 s:
I've tried several things and then decided to use NetworkManager as a front end to iwd. Not sure what the issue is with iwgtk but consider this solved.

Re: [Solved]Intermittent Iwgtk tray icon

From my observation, iwgtk still runs normally in the background, but the icon depends heavily on the DE/WM system tray, especially on Wayland like labwc. Switching to NetworkManager as the frontend for iwd is a more practical and stable solution in the long term.
