I used Conky and had Google AI build the config file for me since I'm no programmer.

Sounds like conky is much more customizable than I thought. Will try when I get to my pc. Thanks for the reply

Here is the current version of my Xfce desktop on an old Dell Latitude 7370 with a high resolution screen:

A minor issue with an icon in the panel brought me back to this forum.
It seems like adapting the dpi-setting and the font sizes + some CSS in gtk.css makes Xfce work very well for high resolutions.
