Here is the current version of my Xfce desktop on an old Dell Latitude 7370 with a high resolution screen:

A minor issue with an icon in the panel brought me back to this forum.
It seems like adapting the dpi-setting and the font sizes + some CSS in gtk.css makes Xfce work very well for high resolutions.

The dock is xfce4-docklike-plugin. It's a plugin for Xfce panel.
It depends on the system you are using. On the Debian system, you can install xfce4-docklike-plugin package.
