Hi!
I have tried numerous attempts to customize the xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu, but unfortunately, I have not been successful. I have previously themed and messed around with the Whisker Menu, and the process worked perfectly. However, the xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu better suits the retro-styled theme I am creating.
I have tried to identify the selectors and objects using gtk-inspector by navigating to xfce4-panel > css nodes, but I have not been able to find the correct selectors or objects. And if I run:
GTK_DEBUG=interactive xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu...no debugging window appears.

How the application menu looks like in this moment (ignore the black stuff).
I will remove some entries in the menu editor when I successfully manage to theme the menu.

Wanted result.
I mostly just need a list over some css nodes I can give properties to, or a great tip on how to find these nodes/selectors.
Thank you in advance for any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

This is simply a GTK Menu. To make changes to it, you need to affect the menu, menuitem, menuitem>label, and menuitem>image elements. Note that this will affect all menus in GTK - there doesn't appear to be a way to target just the applicationsmenu menu.
The reason why "GTK_DEBUG=interactive xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu" doesn't work is because its running in the panel. If you enable the GTK Inspector keybinding, you could just press the hotkey when the menu is open and it will open the inspector window.
Wanted result.
Have a look at how the Chicago95 theme does it.

Have a look at how the Chicago95 theme does it.
The Chicago95 theme is my primary inspiration and my project is even forked from it, but Chicago95 lacks the level of detail I’m aiming for. Its Start menu doesn’t match the layout I’m trying to recreate, so I’ll probably have to fall back to my janky Whisker-menu solution:

The janky whisker menu solution (the shutdown button doesn't
even work properly, it's only a start menu folder with a
shutdown dialog entry).
Anyway, Thank you for your guidance.
