Very long time xfce user. Ryzen 3900x, RTX 4070, Gentoo stable, xorg, no login manager. I boot to terminal and run 'startxfce4' every time. 2 1080p screens side-by-side, 1x 165Hz, 1x 120Hz. Disabling and re-enabling compositor fixes it, but is annoying. Anyone have and fix this themselves?

In reality, on XFCE + Xorg, the combination of NVIDIA and multiple monitors with mismatched refresh rates often results in redraw errors after sleep. Personally, I choose the workaround of binding the hotkey to restart the compositor, as it's more stable than waiting for an upstream fix.

I've encountered similar issues with my desktop not rendering correctly after waking from sleep, especially when using the compositor. In my case, adjusting the compositor settings and switching between "Xfwm4" and "Compton" made a significant difference. It’s also worth checking your graphics drivers; an update resolved intermittent glitches for me. It seems like there could be certain configurations that trigger these problems depending on hardware setups. I appreciate this forum focusing on such specific quirks—sharing experiences here can lead to a more stable XFCE environment for all of us!
