I'm experiencing incorrect display when scrolling up/down through a list of folders/files with Thunar 4.20. Instead of "showing" the scrolling throug, when I hold down the up/down arrow keys, the selection remains frozen and "jumps" periodically to the position it has reached, but the user can't know where it has reached in a certain moment because the scrolling isn't displayed.
I have other file managers installed (Nemo, PCManFM) and they display the scrolling correctly.
I tried, among other things, to disable the image preview in the side panel tab, but I couldn't find a way to do it. I can only choose between embedded or standalone mode.
I am using pcmanfm in the meanwhile, but I would like thunar to behave correctly. Partly because despite I have set pcmanfm as default file manager in xfce's Default applications settings, firefox does not honor this setting and still uses thunar to open location of downloaded files. So thunar will always be there around in the desktop.
Regards
Ps Note: I don't know if it's related, but I was also experiencing somewhat similar scrolling problems in LibreOffice spreadsheets. After a lot of troubleshooting, I found that the problem was with GTK3. Running LibreOffice with GTK3 excluded from the environment variable solves the problem. What version of thunar are you running?
Also, is this dependent on a specific thunar view? (e.g. Icon View, List View, Detail View)

thunar 4.20.1, as mentioned.
No, it is not dependent on a specific view.
It is, however, partly dependent on the harware. I am currently writing on a more powered intel core i7 pc at work, where the scrolling flow is showed (the file list scrolls instead of just jumping). Although, se selection highlight is not showed after reaching the bottom/top of the window in the detailed list view, it seems to be a little ahead of the thunar main window.
I like more how pcmanfm behaves in this regard, as the selection highlight remains visible inside the window during the scrolling. The compact and icon view works fine on this i7 pc.

Interestingly, I see this on one of my systems. The slower one (running thunar 4.20.7) doesn't have this issue. The faster one (running the current version of thunar from git master) does. Which the opposite of what you are seeing.
Perhaps its worth filing a bug report about it: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/-/i … list-route.
