Hello everyone,
Finaly did put someting to the spot where it belongs, in the wall.
But what to do with my computer hardware? (dual boot for the moment, changing is not an instant process).
After more then 25 years I have returned to one of my first loves, Debian (trixie).
And I'm using Xfce with it.
Debian from 1995 is not the same as Debian now.
Over time I had sneek peaks of it but... X11 is not wayland and the x11 windows manager is not Xfce.
Still remember a lot from the past, still using vi (my preferred editor all the way, gvim).
But what I remember has all changed. Gone are the times that installing X11 may result in a destroyed monitor.
I have a lot to catch up for, and enough work to do, such as:
- converting my projects to gcc/cmake and unit testing with boost. (In parts already done while preparing for this transition).
- get LinuxCNC up and running. (I've noticed a steep learning curve, more or less a cliff if you ask me).
- get Bambu Studio up and running. (It is already installed but not yet thoroughly tested).
- get VirtualBox up and running. (It is, still have some old VM's that I want to use.)
So, best to say that I'm a newbie with gray hair patches at the wrong spots.
I will have new questions to ask, no doubt about that.
Kind regards.
