Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Xfce for a while now because of how lightweight and stable it is, but recently I tried running a third-party tool alongside my setup and started noticing some odd behavior.
The app itself launches fine, but after a bit of use, I run into random slowdowns and sometimes parts of the UI stop responding properly. In a few cases, it even affected my panel and window manager behavior, which I wasn’t expecting. I’m not sure if this is a resource issue, something related to display settings, or maybe how Xfce handles background processes.
While looking into it, I came across some mentions of delta mod during setup discussions, and it seemed like it might be relevant to how the tool is configured or launched, but I’m still not clear if I’m missing a step or if there’s a known compatibility issue with environments like Xfce.
Has anyone here experienced similar problems when running external or modified apps on Xfce? I’d really like to understand whether this is something I can fix with configuration changes or if it’s just a limitation I need to work around.
Any suggestions or things I should check would really help. Thanks!

Holiday Greetings to you, and welcome to the forum!
With due respect, your question needs to be more specific (which "app" are you referring to, and what are your system's technical specififcations? Regarding your system, please run
inxi -Fxziand post the result, and re. your app, please be more speciic (app name and version / linux-native vs. emulated / distro & kernel versions etc.) -- there are just too many variables in play that need examining.
