Hi qichangxing,
If you would like someone to try to help on this forum you would need to provide more information.
I'm not sure what the "start edge" is, the Microsoft Browser?
A better description would include things like: fcitx:
1) did this ever work before? What changed?
2) how did you install it? (for example: git, flatpack, synaptic/apt?)
3) Does an icon it show up in your panel ? Does CTRL-Space change the icon, but there is no popup?...
4) When you start fcitx from the command line, do you get any error messages?
5) I do not have fcitx5, but fcitx has a nice tool called "fcitx-diagnose" you can run in a terminal....any error and what is the output?
6) Any errors in (~/.config/fcitx/log/) log files (location shown in the fcitx-diagose output.)
7) Are you on wayland or x11? Some possible environment variables could be: echo $WAYLAND_DISPLAY,
$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
8) Some useful $.. are displayed in the output of fcitx-diagnose.
With this information the problem may be identified as a technical problem.
P.S: I realize this seems to be a lot of information and questions...but they are mostly warranted.
1) is always good to know, 2) I have fcitx (not fcitx5) installed myself a few years ago..and flatpack installations for fcitx5 seemed to be popular. if you have done so, then things like dbus access, folder permissions and environment variables (the "interface" components between flatpack and the OS) may be the culprit. My suggestion is to run fcitx-diagnose first (if it exists on your machine, I installed with apt/synaptic from a deb package, so I'm not sure) and check what the output is, some of the information asked in other questions MAY already be there (it looks like a nice tool). If it turns out to be a wayland system (question 7) I hope someone else like ToZ will get involved
, as I don't know much about it.
