sessions dont detect "/opt" applications

I wanted to make a session for my browser (brave)
but when I try to use session and startup it doesnt show up on the session list
I tried the same with firefox and xfce terminal emulator and they worked fine
I remembered hearing it was something related to "/opt" so I looked in my "/opt" directory
and I found that it contained brave the application that wasnt working and helium another browser
I tested to see if it appears in the session and startup sessions list but it too didnt appear
so it seems that the session manager doesnt detect applications in /opt

For an application to show up on the sessions list, and for Xfce to be able to manage it that way, it must support the X Session Management Protocol (XSMP). Unfortunately, chromium (that brave and helium are built on) do not (see: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40911826).

The only other option would be if brave/helium somehow internally support saving and restoring its own session. I'm unfamilar with these browsers, but have a look through its settings to see if there is anything regarding session restore (starting where you left off - or something similar).

If its solved, then yes it would be nice if you did. Did you find a setting in the browser?

well I thought an explanation for bug would be reason enough to put a "solved" tag
ofcourse while it doesnt actually solve anything it would point whoever is looking to an explanation
