Hmmm, I don't get that message. Is it still happening? Is the time on your system accurate?

The time is accurate. Also, I have no problems with other sites. I attempted changing my IP address and restarting the browser.

The most likely culprit is that I'm using an old Firefox 115 ESR (Extended support release). It is still officially supported. It works on other https websites just fine. And, on this forum it works fine, also https.

I'll check with a newer browser in a second...

Yep, a newer Firefox works, but that's not on the same computer.
Possibly: the old Firefox has old certificates, and wiki.xfce.org uses some newest CA, while this forum uses an old CA.

Although, technically, Mozilla should have updated the Firefox certificates.
And also, websites shouldn't use such brand-new CAs, exactly because this kind of breakage is possible.

I'm pretty tired anyway of opening a gazillion of accounts for bug submissions, only for them to be largely ignored.

I would open it if they didn't, for absolutely no sane reason at all, require my e-mail address. Why do they need my e-mail address for bug submissions? And, why the entire registering procedure, instead of just a CAPTCHA.

Makes no sense to me. Or, it does: noone wants to fix bugs, so they make it as hard as possible to submit one.

Do you really think they are going to fix it for 0.1% of users that still use Firefox ESR? I don't believe it.

So, you submit the bug if you want, I'll read the Xfce wiki on archive.org.

Other than checking the time and date. If you can, boot your computer to bios/uefi interface and check it there. Usually there are some F-keys you need to press once your computer starts boot up. Mine is F10. It can be F1, F12 etc depending on your hardware or manufacturer

Last time I got the same error as you was not because of the time and date on linux itself. But instead the bios/uefi reset the time there.

If you have already fixed the problem and your browser is working, then no need to check the bios/uefi.

AFAIK, all modern operating systems will update the BIOS/UEFI time whenever the OS updates its own time. Specifically in M$ Windows, the OS real time clock always equals exactly the same as BIOS/UEFI real time clock.
Linux has a real time clock offset (in hours), depending on the time zone.
