gitlab.xfce.org : cannot create a new issue

I wanted to create a new issue on gitlab.

I went to:
https://gitlab.xfce.org/www/www.xfce.or … list-route

I selected:
- Type: Issue
- Title: xfce.org home page font size is too small

Then I clicked on "Create Issue"
- But that hangs on forever, the new issue seems to never be created

??? Confused ???

I believe gitlab.xfce.org requires a sign-in to create work items but shows that drop-down even if you are not logged in. Since creating accounts directly on girlab.xfce.org is created, you will need to sign in using a GitHub or GitLab account.

That's exactly what I was beginning to suspect, but thank you for confirming it.

Unfortunately, I will likely never register on Github or Gitlab in order to login on Xfce, due to security and privacy concerns.

Consequently, I can never submit any bug reports or feature requests, or other suggestions.

That means these two bug reports and feature requests of mine will never get submitted:

Come-on...you're a smart guy, those aren't real issues which can't also be misdirected.

Thank you for the compliment.

Hiding the IP requires some extra setup. Its not easy, requires about one hour of work.

Browser fingerprinting is EXTREMELY hard to avoid, even for me. I do have a specific GPU, a specific list of fonts installed, and a specific screen resolution, all easily detectable from javascript.

Overall, I would say: it is not really practical to manually hide all that.

Come-on, the first is easily defeated with a VPN, and the second with a simple extension in your browser. EZ-PZ
Don't kid yourself, anything you believe you should hide for "privacy", those who want it already have it in spades...just post your bug report and suggestion(s) and be done with it.

The first is "easily" defeated with a VPN, after a 1 hour setup. That's the easy one.

"With a simple extension in your browser." - no, that cannot defeat javascript fingerprinting. The solution is a virtual machine, into which you install an OS, into which you install a browser, and then set up a network passthrough. That's 2 hours of work.
And, still impractical, because a vm guest can never integrate perfectly with your host OS. So, it is 2 hours of work and an ongoing chore.

I've been known by others to be full of shite, but this technical drama has the simple scent and appearance of a shadow dancing. You've clearly made certain you'll "never submit any bug reports or feature requests, or other suggestions", and I fear Xfce will forever be in deficit without said input. Love & Light

No, there are two obvious solutions.

1. Some Xfce admin sends me initial credentials for "gitlab.xfce.org" using the private messaging feature here on the forums.

2. Almost anyone who already has an account at "gitlab.xfce.org" can post the bug report/feature request there, and just link to the posts here on the forum. That's 5 minutes of work.

@daffyduck, creating an enhancement request is the proper way to move this forward. If you do not wish to create an account on gitlab, you can also try to reach the developers in other ways - see: https://xfce.org/community (e.g. mailing list, matrix).
