Which Xfce distor should I pick?

I prefer stability over bleeding edge software. I mainly use flathub. I also like seamless upgrade to the next version of the OS.

I have come across 3 XFCE distros:

1- Linux Mint Xfce.
2- Xubuntu.
3- CachyOS Xfce.

Which one has the best boot polish? which one uses the least amount of RAM? which one is lighter overall?

Which one the Xfce devs recommend the most?

ubuntu and mint are based on debian

cachy is based on arch

arch is good for experienced users (it's rolling)

debian is the most stable, it's like a big flat rock, that most other distro's spring off from

(the stable edition 13 (trixie))

that's the one you really want, and will enjoy the most

give yourself a nice patient install, and initial upgrade of packages you like, then make a backup, then whenever you want, you can always roll back the system, and start over from your backup.

most stuff on the internet that works with Gnu/Linux will work with debian + has instructions for using their unique projects with debian, so you basically can't go wrong. if you want newer packages, you pull them in to your stable trixie install, from like git, or temporarily activating the next version in line

then if you mess up your packages for whatever reason, you can just rewind to your backup, and start over.

(it'll be more lightweight depending on how much you customize it, you gotta spend a little extra time customizing debian compared to the other distro's, but it is worth it, it's usually super stable, with Xorg+Xfce especially) (the only time it isn't 'super stable' is right after they come out with a major release, then you want to wait to upgrade to the next version, just hang back for a year, till they work more of the bugs out, then go for 14)

basically it's one of the few distro's that qualifies as "super stable" xorg+xfce on debian. but you actually have to be patient with upgrading to enjoy that super stability

And if you want pure XFCE, go with Debian Trixie. Not the Ubuntu (Xubuntu flavor) or Linux Mint variants.
