Normally with either a button on the panel or through the menu clicking Logout would bring up the Logout dialog window, power off, restart, lock screen etc. For some reason now all it does is log me out. I assume this was a recent update. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Greetings!
Imho, trying to figure out such a setting change leads to nowhere ... Easier to fix:
* for panel session buttons: RightClick on button > properties > apply your desired tweak
* whisker menu: RightClick on menu button > propoerties . CommandsTab > apply your desired tweak
Cheers, m4a

I understand how to change the function of the button. What I'm not sure of is what has changed to alter the function of the buttons?
xfce4-session-logout with no options should open the dialog. this is no longer happening.
xfce4-session-logout --version
xfce4-session 4.20.4 (Xfce 4.20)

Do you have "Prompt on logout" enabled? Session and Startup > General.
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -p /general/PromptOnLogoutMark solved threads as [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find solutions.

I do now. Not sure why/how it was changed? Fixed now.
