Change color when file is selected in Thunar

Hi,

the Greybird theme has changed a little bit from Xubuntu 24.04 to 26.04. I want to change the background color and text color when

  • a file is selected in thunar and thunar is inactive

  • right click on a file in thunar and the context menu is opened

I tried this in gtk3.0:

.thunar .standard-view.frame widget.view:backdrop:selected,
.thunar .standard-view.frame treeview.view:backdrop:selected {
    background-color: #aaaaaa;
    color: #000000;
}

but this only changed the text color not the background color.

Re: Change color when file is selected in Thunar

Sounds like you have file highlight enabled. Go to the View menu and disable it, then see if it helps. (File highlight will overwrite CSS).
