I'm running 64-bit linux but sadly there's no flash support. I installed a 32-bit binary of firefox that can use the netscape-flash plugin and this saves my day.
So, what usually happens is that I surf around with Opera, find a youtube video I'd like to watch, copy link, open firefox-bin, paste link and hit enter et. voila. (I haven't managed to run netscape-flash in Opera either.)
Now, I've put a launcher in my panel executing firefox-bin. What would be great though was if firefox would launch automatically going to whatever address is in my selection buffer. I don't know if this is xfce4 related at all, I just had this idea and had to write

you can drag the link to the launcher it should open the url, but I don't know of any cli apps that can grab the clipboard

If you middle click the launcher, the content in the clipboard is used for the last argument, so if
http://www.xfce.org
is copied into the clipboard, and you middle-click the firefox launcher the Xfce website is openend. This only works in Xfce 4.3.xx.xx btw.
