Permission denied error when creating custom command in thunar...

...title says it all really
Can create custom commands as root, but not as a user.
It's probably something really simple, but I can't figure it out! :?

any help appreciated!

Do you have r/w access in ~/.config/Thunar?
Run chown -R <username> ~/.config/Thunar.

yeah - I've checked that, and I own the files
weird! it must be a permission problem somewhere (root has no problems), but can't figure it out

this is really annoying me - anyone any ideas? :-x

does anyone know if it's possible to edit the menus you get for certain file types when you right click on them? Aren't they stored as XML somewhere?
