hi guys,
im running ubuntu 6.10 with xfce4.0...it was runing great till a couple of days ago xfce hung suddenly and after that will show only a blue screen of death (no pun intended) after i log in...i uninstalled xfce totally and reinstalled it but it hasnt helped...i have had to go back to genome an i don really like it that much...looks like some config files have been modified or somethin that i donno of...im relatively new to linux so help me out here...thanks

You can remove your config by running 'mv ~/.config ~/.config.bak', but personaly i don't think Xfce can hang the Xserver, maybe an other (not Xfce related) updated caused the problem. You can read the xorg log files (/var/lob/Xorg.0.log) to see if there are errors printed before the system hangs.

Any why do you think the panel is not starting? Because nothing in the bt says the panel crashes.
More likely you glib or libgnomeui or broken.
