tricky keyboard focus

Hello,

I use Ubuntu Edgy's XFCE (4.3.90.2 ?).
I would like to use XFCE in the following way,
as for the focuses:
the default setup for every application would be
click to focus, new windows automatically get focus,
raise on focus, raise on click BUT
for some other application, like firefox, openoffice,
the windows should not steal the focus on startup
(new windows do not get focus).

How can I setup to work this way XFCE?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Regards,
A.

Re: tricky keyboard focus

Nope. When you enable 'active focus prevention' the windows are only focussed then you ask for it (also not focused when you start an application) and with this disabled, everything works normal.

Re: tricky keyboard focus

Thanks for the reply.

This also means that there is no opportunity to specify some settings
(e.g. this gain-focus-on-startup or always-on-top, big-red-frame)
application-wide (e.g. firefox, xeyes or root-console respectively)?

Best wishes,
A.
