Xfce 4.4 Menus and windows are garbled for a split second when first displayed

The new version is most working great, but there's some weird behaviour.  When a window or a menu is first displayed after logging in (or waking up from hibernation), for a fraction of a second it appears all black, or as garbled garbled, random junk.  I assume it's something to do with Xfce displaying the window and then drawing in it.

I have the compositor, but am not using a special video card, just the Intel 915 card in my ThinkPad.   Using Ubuntu Edgy.

And with the compositor disabled? And shadows disabled?

This does not appear to happen when compositor is disabled. (I don't use shadows since they seem to have a noticeable effect on performance.)

Well I don't think you can get rid of this. Maybe enabling acceleration (dri probably) in Xorg with XRender support (xfwm4 -V) will improve the render speed (if you haven't done this already...).
