Hello
I'm new to XFCE
I have installed xcfe 4.2 on my gentoo system and then I have upgrade it to xfce 4.4.0
The problems I have now are the following:
1. When I go to the xcfe settings manager and choose File Manager I get the following error
Failed to open the File Manager Preferences
Either Xfce File Manager was not built with support
for D-BUS, or the D-BUS service was not installed properly
2. When I choose for Xfce to manage my desktop I get not colors on the desktop neither a picture
I have reinstalled the dbus package on my system, and still have no success
Does anybody know how to solve this issue ?

I have found the solution
I have first tried to run from the command line xfdesktop and I have got an error about a missing library libdbus-1.so.2
I have then used
locate libdbus
to see where the libraries are installed
I have found in /usr/lib the library named libdbus-1.so (I have installed dbus version 1.0.2)
so I have made a symbolic link
ln -s libdbus-1.so libdbus-1.so.2
and now everything is working perfectly ;D

Why is it a crapy distro ?
I use Gentoo and Slackware on my boxes, and I'm more then pleased with them.

Symlinking problems are just annoying.. that's all.. ;D

Ok mate I agree with that
But I would not call a distro crapy cause of that
Anyways the problem is solved, the solution is posted, so maybe someone else can benefit from it.
